Dr. Abdelrasaq Na-Allah, Pioneer Director

Professor Abdelrasaq Na-Allah

Senior Research Fellow and Pioneer Director

Abdelrasaq Na-Allah holds a PhD in Economics from University of The Western Cape-Cape Town, South Africa. He is an Associate Professor of Development Economics and incumbent Director of the Centre. He served previously as Pioneer Head, Department of Economics & Development Studies of the University. Prior to joining Federal University Dutsinma, he worked as a Research Fellow with the Institute for Economics Research on Innovation, Tshwane University of Technology under the auspice of the South African Research Chair Initiative (SARCHI). Some of his key academic distinctions and awards include the prestigious Japanese Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship, the South African NRF Post-doctoral Fellowship and the Carnegie African Capacity Development Fellowship. During the course of his career he consulted for several international organisations that include United Nations University (UNU-WIDER) and the World Bank among others.
His research interest and writings traverse the sphere of economics of innovation, industrial development and trade policy.

 
Professor Ojonigu Ati, Senior Research Fellow

ATI Ojonigu Friday is a Professor of Geography and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre. He is also the current Dean of the School of Post Graduate Studies (SPGS), Federal University Dutsinma and previously Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. He is the winner of the 1990 Manjit Sidhu Prize for the best Graduating Student in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His current Google Scholar Rating statistics are: H-index 9; i10-index 7, Citations 308 and Researchgate rates him as follows: RG Score- 8.37; H-index- 6 and Citations- 195.
He is a fellow and member of several professional bodies among which are: Institute of Industrialist and Corporate Administrators; Strategic Institute of Natural Resources and Human Development; African Scientific Institute; International Society for Agricultural Meteorology (INSAM); IHY Nigeria; Nigerian Meteorological Society (NMets) and Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG).
His signature area of research is climate change.

 
Dr, Ibrahim Hassan, Senior Research Fellow

Dr. Hassan Ishaq Ibrahim

Senior Research Fellow

Hassan Ishaq Ibrahim is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics, both from Ahmad Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. He obtained a PhD in Agricultural Economics from University of Ilorin Nigeria in 2009. He was a Senior Lecturer at Nasarawa State University Keffi, Nigeria. He is currently Reader and Head of Agricultural Economics and Extension at Federal University Dutsinma.
His research focuses mainly on impact evaluation, household food security and post-harvest loss. Dr Ibrahim served as a Consultant to the international food policy research institute and the Independent evaluation group of the world bank. He has served as consultant to various world bank projects in Nigeria.

 
Dr. Sanusi Jari, Research Fellow

Dr. Sanusi Jari

Research Fellow

Dr. Jari Sanusi obtained his Ph. D in Crop Production from the Russian State University of Agriculture, Moscow. He is a Research Fellow at the Centre. Dr. Jari is also the incumbent Head of the Department of Crop Production and Protection based in the Faculty of Agriculture of Federal University Dutsin-Ma. He is a member of several professional associations such as: the International Association of Agricultural Biotechnology, Nigeria Agricultural Science Association and The Society for the Conservation of Phytofuel and Science.
His interest is in researching the issue of agro ecological innovations for improving productivity, food security and resilience to climate change in drier areas. He is also passionate about teaching the topic: technology mediated learning.

 
Dr. Kelechi Eleanya, Research Fellow

Dr. Kelechi Eleanya

Research Fellow

Kelechi Eleanya is a forest resource economist and Research Fellow at FUCID. His research interests are sustainable forest-based livelihoods, climate change, environmental policy and resource governance.
He has won several International Awards. These include: Cameron Speth Fellow at the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Washington DC, Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies; Andrew Sabin International Environmental Fellow in USA; and the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) Japan Fellowship amongst others.
He is a member of the Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN), Common Wealth Forestry Association (CFA) UK, Society of American Foresters (SAF) USA, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) USA and other professional organizations.
Dr. Eleanya has a strong vision to make positive impacts in Global Development Practice in Africa and around the world. He was a project team member on the implementation of the United Nations Millennium Villages Project (MVP) aimed at achieving the Millennium Development Goals in rural Africa; he is actively engaged with policy makers, academia and other stakeholders to promote progress towards a more Sustainable Global Environment and recently facilitated Nigeria’s membership and commitment to the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative (AFR100).

Auwal Samaila

Administrative Officer

Auwal Samaila holds a B. A (Hons) degree in Business Administartion from University of Hertfordshire, Malaysia and International Executive Master of Business Administration (IEMBA) from Paris Graduate School of Management.
He is the Administrative Officer for the Centre.
